Jige in the City
I've recently come to appreciate the versatility of the day clutch for city life. Affordable (at least by Hermes standards), the Jige clutch is such a terrific flexible piece in my wardrobe. In some ways, the Jige is a bit of a unicorn as it doesn't appear often in stores or online, but when it does, it's time to grab it! I had a savage choice to make when I was fortunate enough to be offered a Noir and a Rouge Grenat in the same week. I opted for classic black (Noir) in Swift leather as a piece I can carry year-round and for both day and evening occasions.
The Jige is available in different sizes. The version I selected is called the Jige Elan 29, measuring 29cm wide x 15cm high x 3cm deep. While the dimensions seem small, this clutch packs a surprising amount of storage space inside a sleek exterior. I love the simple leather slide closure - the leather tab slides effortlessly into the H logo, no noisy snaps or difficult buckles to get in the way. The interior is simple and streamlined - fully lined in leather for a durable and luxurious feel. This clutch is the definition of understated luxury.
Living in the city, form and function are equally important. I can easily fit my essentials - phone (yes, even a gargantuan iPhone 6 +), keys, a small notepad for meetings, & small wallet for grabbing a bite to eat. On days when I have a lot to carry, the slim clutch fits nicely inside my larger handbags and totes.
Another high quality, timeless piece from the quintessential French luxury brand. I know the Jige will be a classic piece in my collection for many years to come. Do you have a Jige? Thinking about adding one to your collection? Share your thoughts below!
